This is what republicans think passes as a serious candidate for governor This is what republicans think passes as a serious candidate for governor

The campaign of Dave Spence (r) via the Twitterverse:

@spenceformo Dave Spence
Should prisoners receive unemployment benefits? Have your voice be heard: take our poll today! bit.ly/s3HGtV 19 Dec
A press release twelve days ago from the Missouri Department of Labor:  State continues to crack down on unemployment fraud (click the link)

"...Less than a month after implementing a new cross-matching process with the Department of Corrections, the Missouri Department of Labor has already prevented one inmate from trying to obtain unemployment benefits and caught 11 others who have tried in the past..."

Uh, using a new system they caught twelve people. The system worked. Did anyone in Governor Jay Nixon's (D) administration state that prisoners should receive unemployment?
"...'People in prison are not eligible to collect unemployment benefits. Period,' said Department of Labor Director Larry Rebman..."

Okay, that's settled.

In FY 2010 the total (male and female) incarcerated population reported [pdf] by the Missouri Department of Corrections was 30,418.

Twelve out of 30,418.

Then why the Twitter post from Dave Spence's (r) campaign touting a "poll" for a non-issue? Seems like an awful waste of $2 million.

Amateurs. It's enough to make us miss Peter Kinder (r).

Our addition:

Millionaire Dave Spence: The man who claims he will create  jobs if elected  Missouri's  Republican Governor in 2012  is running out of steam even before the GOP primary. He's spending his $2,000,000 personal donation to his campaign to Tweet about 12 inmates who tried to received S seems not to realize the enormous problems Missouri voters are facing: Escalating cost of living, college tuition beyond reach, unemployment, foreclosure etc. Spence doesn't feel the pains and anguish of Missourians because he is worth $260,000,000 and lives in a $8,000,000 mansion in St. Louis.

Millionaire Dave Spence's $8,000,000 estate with a golf course in St. Louis. It's no wonder that he tweets about 12  inmates who tried to receive unemployment benefits instead of addressing real issues like how he will create jobs. He doesn't know what it's like to be homeless, unemployed, losing pension, not having health care etc. Look at where he lives! He is part of the 1% that's reeking havoc on the rest of the 99% of Americans!

Dave Spence, the man who wants to be Missouri's Republican Governor in 2012  is worth $260,000,000,  donates  $2,000,000 of his money to his campaign but Tweets about 12 inmates who tried to collect unemployment benefits! Does Spence know what he is doing? Does he know the serious problems confronting Missouri voters? Are we not justified to claim that Spence doesn't care about Missourians and he is running for his own profit and to enrich his wealthy friends? Does Spence think that he can spend his fortune to buy the Governor's office?

Dave Spence: Missouri voters Don't Worry Be Happy! I will Tweet about
non-issues like 12 inmates trying to fraudulently receive unemployment
benefits! I am going to spend the $2,000,000 I personally contributed to
my campaign on non-issues. I am not interested in your problems! I want
to be elected for my own profit! I intend to spend my fortune to get elected
the next Governor of Missouri!
